In the area of Access to Health, MSD has initiated the following science based partnerships and patient support programs in India: 

Certificate Course in Evidence Based Diabetes Management

Partnership with Public Health Foundation of India and Dr. Mohan's Diabetes Education Academy to develop core skills and competencies in primary care physicians for the practice of evidence based diabetes management, focused on the management of Type 2 Diabetes.


MSD SPARSH, a unique patient support program was launched in January 2009. The program, which is offered to patients taking JANUVIA and JANUMET on recommendation of the prescribing physician, offers comprehensive diabetes management including diet counseling, exercise counseling, education on diabetes and its complications.

Antibiotic Stewardship programme

An initiative to promote rational use of antibiotics and help formulate hospital specific antibiotic policy to improve health care outcomes and minimize antibiotic resistance. This program has been advocated by the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM) and under their banner antibiotic stewardship was expanded to antimicrobial stewardship by including management of fungal infections also

Guard Yourself™ Centers

MSD launched Guard Yourself™ Centers in partnership with private hospitals and clinics with an objective to spread awareness about Cervical cancer prevention actions (education, screening and vaccination).
