MSD India
MSD India has won the prestigious Marketing Excellence Award of the Organisation of Pharmaceutical Producers of India (OPPI) thrice consecutively in 2007, 2008 and 2009. This signal honour is a recognition of MSD India's commitment to 'putting patients first'.
In 2007, CANCIDAS was awarded the Excellence in Marketing (New Product category) award. CANCIDAS was launched in 2006 for the treatment of Systemic Fungal Infections, and expanded MSD's Critical Care portfolio. The success of CANCIDAS was attributed to extensive pre-launch market research, innovative branded and non-branded marketing, and impactful brand exposure to doctors. In year 2008, Januvia was awarded with the OPPI and in 2009 GARDASIL® [Human Papillomavirus Quadrivalent (Types 6, 11, 16 and 18) Vaccine, Recombinant] was awarded the OPPI Marketing Excellence Award 2009 for its outstanding performance in marketing in the New Pharmaceutical Products Category. The product marketing strategy embodies MSD India's commitment to 'putting patients first' in helping address disease burdens in the country through a comprehensive and strategic partnership approach including the three cornerstones of Education, Screening and Vaccination. This approach is embodied in the unique GuardYourselfTM initiative of the company, which empowers physicians and patients to have an informed discussion, and make a comprehensive preventive choice; and to the deployment of a unique consumer and physician strategy.
